Individual Career Coaching

My Approach to Coaching

We’ll set up a free introductory call so you can get to know me and I can learn about what you’re looking to achieve.

My coaching approach is to ask questions, work with you to identify some measurable goals, and help you create a container and a process to help you achieve your goals. Each person’s container looks different. We’ll work together to find the most impactful one for your life.

I believe in a high level of agency and autonomy in pursuing our ambitions. You’re in the driver’s seat of your car, I’m a GPS system advising you of the fastest route to your destination. I’m going to offer perspective based on my expertise, give you suggestions, make recommendations for next actions. You have to decide what to do with that information. Learn more about my 10 Coaching Commandments here.

I will also try to make you laugh along the way. Humor is so important!

My Clients

Finding the right coach is like finding a good therapist. It needs to be the right fit. We might be a good fit if you are:

  • A woman. My one-on-one coaching services are specifically for individuals who identify as women. This is a community I believe I can best support, and a community that is often very unsupported when it comes to professional coaching. There are many, many, MANY, coaches for men. I am not one of them.

  • Ready to do the work to make changes to your career. If you aren’t ready to put in the work, it’s ok! Come back when you are feeling more ready. Readiness looks like being able to name what you want and having a willingness to take action (even when those actions are a bit uncomfortable). If you’re not sure if you’re ready, that’s ok too. Let’s have an initial chat and dig a bit deeper.

  • Not expecting perfection from your coach. I’m not perfect. I am still growing and learning to thrive in my imperfection. If you need something you can look up to 100% of the time, who will never make mistakes, I’m not your gal. I am successful, I have experience, but I am also a work in progress.

Coaching Testimonials

"Nina is an exceptional career coach and mentor. She brings a style that is kind but firm, and has been able to offer me many resources and advice that have supported my career in nonprofit operations management. I've carried on many significant lessons from her towards my own work, ones especially dealing with workplace boundaries. I appreciate the thought partnership that she brings to our conversations, giving me space to try different approaches and learn from my own experience. I feel so safe with her and can bring my full thoughts to her without fear of being judged. Through my work with Nina, I feel better equipped to work with senior level leaders and have improved my communication with more challenging employees. I recommend her for women looking for practical and insightful guidance for navigating their careers."

— Pinky C., Recruiting and Talent, New York

“Nina’s an empathetic and compassionate human who will approach every conversation with great thought and care.  She recognizes the vulnerability that comes with asking for coaching and with considering life changes.  As a friend and a colleague, I have trusted Nina implicitly to provide honest and fair guidance and to help reflect back to me the version of myself that I want to show up in the world every day.”

— Caitlin, Nonprofit Executive, Orlando, FL

“I've known Nina both personally and professionally for many years. She has a talent for taking something overwhelming and complex and breaking it down in a way that is understandable for varied audiences. When I've been at a career crossroads, I've worked with Nina to understand the trade offs of my decision, and think carefully about how each job change will support my overall career aspirations. She's worked with me through challenging manager situations, helped me understand how to have more agency in my jobs, coached me in how to have difficult conversations at work and how to better advocate for my own needs in the workplace. Best of all, Nina approaches her guidance with a lot of compassion and patience. She is able to ask powerful and helpful questions that have helped me arrive at my own conclusions about what I should do and what decisions to make.”
