My name is Nina. I've been in therapy for eight years. I started for a bunch of reasons. I'm still there for a bunch of reasons.
This blog is a multi-year project to document 150 of the thousands of lessons that I've learned in therps.
What the hell is therps? "Therps" refers to therapy. It also refers to my therapist. I like the term "therps" because it normalizes something that has so much stigma and gravity attached to it. It's also easy to type.
These lessons aren't linear. Therps isn't linear (that's a lesson for somewhere down this road --- spoilers!)
These are my own lessons. Some of these lessons will resonate with you and some of them may not. These are my own reflections, a way of documenting something that has been such a huge part of my life and my self-growth. It's also my hope that this project will help to de-stigmatize therapy, particularly for women of color and South Asian women.
I'm a Bay Area based nonprofit professional who fantasizes about recording my own best-selling audiobook. I blogged for a number of years primarily about race and culture and am mostly known for calling Victoria's Secret out on some bullshit. The trolling got to be too much so I took a long blogging hiatus.
I live with my cat in Alameda and I miss Google Reader.
